Bill Cunningham’s “On the Street” has become a style index for the fashion crowd, actually, for any crowd willing to gander. It’s one of the earliest predecessors of modern street style and paved the way for guys like Scott Schuman, William Yan and Tommy Ton. The man is quite simply a legend and can’t stop (won’t stop) season after season.
What struck me about this edition is how many voices of menswear are represented. There are the outlandish crew in the top left, the printed crew on the lower left, some trailblazers in the middle, the heritage group on the top right and then there’s a few other sprinkled throughout. The point this makes, the point that I find interesting, is that menswear runs the gamut. Granted, nobody I know has ever said otherwise, but to see it all in one place is a good thing.
Leave it to Bill Cunningham.
GUCCI FALL/WINTER 2012.13
Gucci’s Fall 2012 can pretty much be summed up in one word: yes. A sexy array of velvety textures, purple and black hues, floral maxi skirts, and sheer gowns. All Oscar red carpet worthy! Check out footage of the full show (above)!
New York Times’ Lens section, recently published a collection called “Portraits of the Artists”, a series of portraits that involve subjects who make their living in front of the camera.
Off to New York for the weekend! See y’all Sunday night!
One of the biggest annoyances about shopping in SoHo, or anywhere in the city for that matter, is when you have to go to the bathroom. Usually, I’m at least one cup of coffee deep and that urge comes like clockwork. Too much information? Well, perhaps you’ve never read the book Everybody…
My epicurean and musical friend has told me about a New York City gem called Murray’s Cheese.
With two locations in the city at Grand Central and Greenwich Village, it looks like stopping at one of these babies might be on my “New York May List.” She described mountains of fig jam, smoky cheeses, creamy cheeses, crumbly cheeses, meats of all cures and colors, and a startling array of sandwich creations that could make your tummy tumble.
I believe that New York week will be “A Week in the World of Food,” another great reason to have a countdown…
The Mast Brothers Chocolate. A beautiful little shop in Brooklyn.
